The Greenfingers project has been running for 3 years and is supported by the Duchy College, Camborne.

It provides and excellent opportunity to re-enter trainining and education, even if you have no prior qualifications. The course runs for 1 year and provides a Diploma in Horticulture on completion. This is only half the story, the course also provides a package of training, funded by the RNP, which addressses the confidence, communication skills and numeracy/literacy skills of those taking part.

The sucess of the project has led to many other communities, throughout the country, seeking to replicate its delivery. To date the Greenfingers team have assisted 58 people with 46 of those achieving the qualification and 6 of those going onto full time employment. The project delivers skills for employment, effective skills for communication and builds the self confidence of those taking part.

Throughout each Greenfingers course the students are given support, advice and signposting to other services. Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change are providing 1-1 sessions on employment opportunities and Working Links provide advice on further educational opportunities.

If you are interested or know a family member who may be please get in touch with the RNP.
